Show 1 UTAH OFFICIALS TO ATTENDCONFERENCE Governor, Two Senators and Others to Leave Tomorrow To-morrow for Portland. WILL DISCUSS POWER Meeting Is for Purpose of Taking Action on Federal Fed-eral Policy. I fiovcrnor William Spry, accompanied by Senator Reed 8 moot, Senator George Sutherland, W. Mont Kerry, L. R. Anderson An-derson of Munti ami State Senator L. B. Wright of Park City, will leave Salt .Lake for Portland tomorrow night, where they will attend the Water Power ronfereneo of western governors gover-nors which ia to bo held iu that city next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Thurs-day. In Portland they will be joined by Attorney General A. Ft. Barnes, who will first go to San Pra ncieco, and b v Slate Kngineer W. I). Beers, who is now on the coast, in attendance at the J n tern at ional Irrigation congress. Senators Smoot ami Sutherland will attend tho sessions at the special so-Hcitation so-Hcitation of the western goornors, and the others are the regularly accredited delegates from Utah to the conference, wh ich comprises representatives from i lie eleven ' ' public lands ' ' states and 1 rom South Dakota. Governors and delegates from Washington, Oregon, California, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, I'tah, Arizona, New Mexico. California, Wyoming and South Dakota are expected ex-pected to be present. Frame Resolution. The conference is for the purpose of framing a resolution embodying the sentiment o the states involved on a federal policy in the matter of handling public lands, with ospocial regard for 3'owur sites and rights of way. Tho adjourned meeting of the conference of western governors held last spring will also Conn :i part of the session of the Water Power conference. Pertinent to the conference Is a resolu- policy committee of the National Electric Elec-tric Ught association at its meeting at Pprlng Iake Beach, N. J., Wednesday, Wednes-day, The committee is emphatic in Its opposition to the passage by the federal congress of the so-called Pen-is hill and urges the governors to go on record to the name effect. Text of Resolution. The resolution tn full Is as follows: In view of Ihe Importance of the subject to members of this association associa-tion and to the gonetal public, the public polloy committee of the National Na-tional Electric Light association has considered legislative propositions which seek to deal with the control of water power developments in the public domain.
