Show TURKISH BANKS WILL BE MOVED TO ASIA MINOR LONDON, Sept. 16. 10:10 a. m. Advices Ad-vices from Constantinople, according to the Athens correspondent of the Exchange Telegraph company, are to the effect that all government financial institutions, such as the Ottoman bank, are making preparations prep-arations to move to the interior of Asia Minor. It has been learned from the same sources that because of the fear of an insurrection in the Turkish army all Turkish artillery soon will be placed In charge o Germans. As long ago as March 3 diplomats in London received telegrams stating that the Ottoman bank and the German hank at Constantinople had been transferred to Konieh, Asia Minor, and that the archives ar-chives of the Turkish government had been removed to that city. These steps were supposed to have been taken he-cause he-cause of the attack upon the Dardanelles and the fear that n passage of the straits might soon be forced. |
