Show NIGHT SCHOOL WANTED. Students May Circulate Petition Asking Board to Make It Part of System. Special to The Tribune. OGOICN. Sept. 13. Due to the fact that some members of the city board of education edu-cation rlo not seem to take kindly to the proposition o' repeating the plan i his school year, former students at Ogden's nlsht school In the high school bujldlpg are considering: the advisability of circulating circu-lating a petition asking that the feature be made a part of the regular school system during the present school year. The question of inaugurating the night school was present etl to the board by Superintendent John M. Mills at the last meeting and final action on the matter is expected at the meeting next Friday night. The night school last year cost between be-tween $5000 and $6000 for the winter months and the fact that Ogdcn was not allowed a per capita division of the state high school fund for students attending the night school works against t lie proposition prop-osition for this year. The enrollment in the night school last year was from 40 to 800 st udents, a majority of I hem being be-ing more than 21 years of age and employed em-ployed during the day. So many requests have been received by Superintendent Mills from former night school students for information on Ihc question of adopting the plan this year that he decided to put the question up to the boRrd at once. On the motion of Director H. H. Henderson a I the last meeting the matter was tabled for further fur-ther consideration. |
