Show TOURIST TRAFFIC REACHES LOW EBB Salt Lake Depots Appear to Bo Deserted De-serted After Greatest Season in History. Tourist traffic through Salt Lake, though better for this season of the year than ever before. Is gradually reaching reach-ing its low ebb. The number of tourists passing through the city for California each day Is noticeably less, while, on the other hand, the number of tourists returning re-turning from the exposition is considerably consider-ably greater. Ticket agents at both the Oregon Short Ilne and Denver & Rio Grande depots yesterday remarked that It was the quietest Sunday for months, despite the fact that each incoming and outgoing train seemed fairly crowded. Accustomed, Accus-tomed, as they have been for the past few months, to enormous crowds of passengers pas-sengers for each train, the depots yesterday yes-terday seemed to them quite deserted. None would venture an estimate on the number of tourists who stopped in Salt Lake this season, but all agreed that it has been the greatest summer for tourist traffic the city has known. In view of the fact that Salt Lake is on the direct route of easterners going to the expositions, the city got move than Its quota of tourists. |
