Show REHEARSALS BEGUN FDR ENTERTAINMENT Children of the Kearns St. Ann's Orphanage Prepare for Concert. This year's St. Patrick's day concert promises to surpass any and all previous efforts In the way of annual musical entertainments en-tertainments for the Kea rns St. Ann's orphanage. Several hundred children will take part In the concert, which will be Kiven in the-. Salt Lake theater, and of these 100 will be from the orphanage. Children from the cathedral. St. Patrick's and Our Lady of Lourdea parishes of this city, with many of their little non-Cathollc non-Cathollc friends, will also take part. MIps Nora Gleason, organist and director di-rector of the St. Mary's cathedral choir, will have the trainiiiK of the children. Ten tiny ataris, all lets than 4 years of age. will be the hits of the evening, according ac-cording to Miss Gleason. There will he many new dances, individual and proup. New evolutions and new figures are now being rehearsed for the performance. "The Dance of the Hoses." in which seventy-live children gowned in Pink will appear, and the "Garland Dance," by fifty girls, will be two of the new dance features. Rehearsals of the songs are also under way and, in addition to the baby performers, perform-ers, Mrs. It. M. Austin, lyric soprano of the cathedral ehnir, with her company of girls will be the "headllner" In a new and novel nuinher. Mrs. Austin, who will be remembered as the "Peggy Brady'1 of last year's concert, is the original orig-inal "Pepcy" of the "Isle of Spice," the clever musical comedy which was so successful suc-cessful some years ago in all the large cities of the east. Ftfy boys from tho cathedral will also appear in a clever song and dance. Altogether, the concert of 191a promises to he the best of the otik serly of St. Patrick's entertain- , ments. The proceeds will be used for the children of the orphanage. |
