Today, while ore cars were being switched on th spur track or the "Hlghllne," as It. is better known here, four loaded cars got away and ran down the track from the cut at a terrific speed and jumped the track near the Newell's 'field in Deer valley. val-ley. Two brakemen, Hamilton and WIdtsoe, were riding on the cars and did all In their power to tighten the brakes, but they were-unable to stop the running cars and the men were given a ride that they will remember for some time, but fortunately they escaped without injury by Jumping when tho cars left the track. Two cars are completely off and only the trucks of tho other two are on the rails. About twenty-five feet of the track was torn up and a wrecking train from the Union Pacific shops will probably prob-ably be sent here at onco to clear the wreckage. .Tamca Don, Frank J. McLaughlin and Charles Moore are the committee appointed ap-pointed by tho Commercial club to jook after the observance of Memorial day in Park City tills year. All of tho fraternal and secret societies will bo asked to take part and march to the cemeteries, where the exorcises will bo held. |
