Show SECOND III COMMAND OF JDEJMTIETII Lieut. Col. Frederick Perkins Assigned to the Regiment Now at Fort Douglas. WASHINGTON, April 12. Each of the following named officers is relieved from duty at the institutions spocified after his name, to tako offoct July 1, and then will proceed to join his proper prop-er station: Captain Halsey E. Yates, infantry, University of Nebraska, Lincoln; Captain Cap-tain Robort P. Carter, Eighth infantry, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville; Captain Samuel R. Gleaves, .First cavalry, cav-alry, Virginia Military institute, Lexington; Lex-ington; Captain William T. Patton, Thirteenth infantry, University of Washington, Seattle; Captain Morton C. Mumma. Second cavalrj-, Stato University Uni-versity of Iowa, Towa City; First Lieutenant Lieu-tenant Willinm St. J. .Tcrvoy, Jr., infantry, in-fantry, tho Citadol. Charleston, S. C; Captain Thomas M. Robins, corps of engineers, in addition to his other duties, du-ties, will report to the commandant onginoor school, Washington barracks, for duty at that school. First Lieutenant, Edwin N. Cox, Elev. enth cavalry, will proceed at once to Memphis, Tenn., for duty in connection with the relief of flood sufferers. Leave of absence for fiftcon days to take effect June 1, is granted Captain Henry C. Pittsbmy, medical corps. Leave of abseuco granted First Lieutenant Lieu-tenant William Gear, medical corps, is extended ten days. Leave of absenco for two months and fifteen days is granted First Lieutenant Lieuten-ant Charles C. Herman, Jr., Third infantry. in-fantry. Lieutenant Colonel Frederick Perk-ius, Perk-ius, infantry, recently promoted with rank from March 2, is assigned to the Twentieth infantry. Leave of absence for seven days to tako effect April 14. is granted Major William J. Snow, Third field artillery. First Lieutenant James G. Steese, corps of engineers, is relieved from duty in the office of tho chief of engineers engi-neers and is assigned to duty with tho Second battalion of engineers and will procoed April 20 to Fort Leavenworth for duty accordingly. The retirement of Colonel John Van R. Hoff. medical corps from active service on April 11 is announced. Colonel Col-onel Hoff will proceed to his home. Lieutenant Colonel Frederick Pork-ins, Pork-ins, who has beon assigned to the Twentieth infantry, is expected to arrive ar-rive at Fort Douglas wifrhin a short timo. He was assigned to tho Twentieth Twen-tieth to take tho place of Lieutenant Colonel Ducat, who was formorly at Fort Douglas, but who was promoted to a colonelcy a short timo ago and as signed to duty in New York. |
