Show HEARTILY WELCOME CHIEF AMONG ELKS Local Members of Order Extend Greeting to Perry A. Olay of Denver. Moro than 300 members of tho Benevolent Be-nevolent and Protective Order of Elks gathered at the club rooms on Stato street last night to greet Porry A- Clny of Denver, chnirman of tho board of grand trustoes of the national order. Mr. Clay, who had been askod to do-liver do-liver tho memorial nddross at tho lodge of sorrow in tho tabomaclo Sunday evening, did not arrive in Salt Lako until un-til yostorday owing to tbo dolay of traius caused by tho heavy 6uowfall in tho cast. Following an introduction of tho guost to the mombers of tho club in the lodge room, tho ontiro company adjourned ad-journed to tho reception rooms, whore a short programmo was held. The rooms wore elegantly decorated with purple and whito ribbons, many flowers and American flags. 3tr. Clay waa the chief speaker of tho ovouing. Ho is noted as an orator and ho was heartily applauded when ho had concludoci. Other Hpoakprs woro Valher Byan, formerly for-merly of Ouray, Colo.. Charles A. Quig-lcv, Quig-lcv, P. T.
