Sevoral of the kinds of dances against which the law Is directed particularly arc mentioned In the ordinance, ordi-nance, among them bolnjg tho "turkey trot" and tho "moonlight dance." The passing of tho ordinance was pre- ceded by a meeting of social workoiu with the county commissioners. Most of tho towns and cities of tho county were represented at the mooting, and a resolution resolu-tion was passed Rsklng tho commissioners commission-ers to take the action. Somo of those present asserted that tho morals of tho young peoplo of the county wore being degraded by tho exhibitions permitted at somo of the public halls, where It Is a oustom to turn out the llght occasionally occasional-ly while tho dance proceeds in tho "moonlight" to tho strains of ragtime music. The provisions of the now law apply only In tho county outside of tho cities, hut Inasmuch as Bountiful already has passod a Uko ordinance. It Is believed that Kaysvlllo and Farmlngton will fall In line, thus placing all of Davla county on tho came hasls of control of dances. |
