Show REFUSES TO DISCUSS CASE OF SULLIVAN WASHINGTON. Dec. 9. Secretary Bryan today declined to comment on a published report that Information had been laid before the state department regarding re-garding the conduct of James M. Sullivan Sulli-van of New York, tho new minister to the Dominican republic. Charles B. Curtis, Cur-tis, former secretary of the legation there, was In the capital recently and Is said to have talked with officials about certain negotiations for concessions in Santo Domingo. Do-mingo. Mr. Curtis also talked privately with friends, but declined to permit himself him-self to be quoted. Assistant Secretary Osborne of the state department said today that no charges had been laid before the department and was Inclined to discredit statements regarding re-garding Minister Sullivan's affairs. Secretary Sec-retary Bryan, however, saying he had not seen all the published reports, refused flatly to discuss the subject. Various reports, re-ports, however, arc being discussed In congressional and diplomatic circles. |
