The miniature musical musi-cal comedy, "A Winning Miss," with a cast of twelve winsome misses and four men, rightfully Is the headline number'. It Is a fast-moving bit of comedy. It Is distinguished for Its pretty girls, catchy music and lavish ticcnlc mounting and costuming. With a plot taken from the musical comedy success by tho same name, Boyle Woolfoll: has supplied the tabloid wtlh pretty music and an excellent excel-lent company. In organizing the company com-pany the manager obtained the services of a bunch of clever musical comedy favorites, fa-vorites, Including Johnny Phllllber and Grace Manlove. The story concerns a yacht race In which there Is much at stake, for a pretty girl has promised the winner to become his bride. Of course thero Is one sho favors, and when she finds that there is a plot to make him lose, she steps In and wins the race for him. Touches of college life are admirably given by John Kelt and Frank de Mont. They tell stories, give college yells, sing, dance, and In other ways make their presenco agreeable. An unusually beautiful musical feature on the new bill will be the first appearance appear-ance in Salt Lake of the College Trio, billed as tho Kubellks of vaudeville. Provol Is known as a ventriloquist whlst'er. Ills bird Imitations and clever comedy scores a hit. Santo Santucci. wizard of the accordion, accor-dion, returns to tho vaudeville stage after aft-er an absence from the Pantages circuit of nearly a year. Santucci will doubtless scoro one of tho hits of the show with his rollicking ragtime selections on this tuneful Instrument. There will also be tho usual motion pictures and the Pantages Pan-tages orchestra under the direction of Claude J. Nettleton will have a new pro-grainme pro-grainme of hlu;. |
