Show Local Securities Following is the weekly letter on trade conditions, Issued by John C. Cutler, Jr., & Co.: Gradual improvement is apparent now that tho summer lull Is over, and there Is more confidence expressed in regard to the general business situation throughout the United States, and Indications are considered favorable for increased activities activi-ties during tho fall and winter. The crops in Utah and ln Idaho are in very good shape. Garden products have been good and truckers are having an excellent season. The canning factorler will be able to work steadily, as there Is a large crop of tomatoes. Thoro Is a splendid fruit crop and the' peaches In particular are of a very fine quality. There will be large yields of alfalfa, peas, potatoes, hay. barley, oats and wheat, whllo the beet crop will bo of bumper proportions. Trade conditions liavo Improved lately and the industrial situation is regarded as good. Labor is well employed and manufacturing .plants are quite busy. Building operations have probably been more active lately than earlier in the season. Although profits have been less, rotail and wholesale merchants report a very fair volutno of business. The banks report an active demand for money, and collections are getting better. bet-ter. Price movements ln local securities were irregular during the week. although al-though the tone as a whole showed that Investors were ready to purchase anv good stocks and bonds on slight recessions; reces-sions; INVESTMENT STOCKS.
