Show FALL FROM PEAR TREE CAUSES SUDDEN DEATH Lewis C. Shaw Dies in Hospital After Skull Is Crushed in Peculiar Accident. Lewis C. Shaw, 53 years of age, a contractor and builder, was fatally; injured in-jured when he fell twenty foot from a pear tree at his residence, No. 3 Orchard Or-chard Square, yesterday afternoon at 6 o'clock. Mr. Shaw was sitting on a limb picking pears when it broke and he pitched head first to the ground, crushing his skull. Dr. M. It. Stewart was called and had the injured man removed to the Judge Morcy hospital in the police ambulance, am-bulance, wh'ich had answered an emergency emer-gency call. He died at 7:45 o'olock. Mr. Shaw was a native of Salt. Lake, having boon born bore May 4, I860. He was a son of the late O. B. Shaw. In addition ad-dition to his widow, Sarah M. Shaw, ho is survived by tho following sons and daughters s Lewis C. Shaw, Jr., of Esmeralda, New; Mrs. M. C. Woods, of Ogden; Mrs. "Rush by Midgley, of Salt Lake; Clarence L. Shaw, of Philadelphia, Philadel-phia, and Clarence, Harold, Era, Dorothy Doro-thy and George Sliaw, living at home. Euneral arrangements have not beon completed and will bo announced later. |
