PERSONAL RIGHTS PLEA Old-age Pensions, Eight-hour Law and Workmen's Compensation Com-pensation Favored. PT. LOUIS, Oct 7. The National German-American alliance at Its convention hera today adopted a resolution condemning condemn-ing tho attempt to secure the enactment of a national prohibition law. The resolution denounces as utterly unworthy un-worthy tho proud title, American citizen, citi-zen, those who are attempting to coerce the members of the senate and houso of representatives Into lending their sanction sanc-tion to any scheme of pseudo-rellglous bigots and zealots to control tho personal actions of law-abiding citizens. The resolution continues: "We respectfully petition the members of congress to consider no proposed legislation legis-lation tending to curtail personal rlghtB nnd especially to refrain from adopting any national prohibition measure, being warned from the Increasing use of strong, adulterated and Inferior liquors and dcad-Iv dcad-Iv drugs with th0 adoption of so-called prohibition statutes by several states." Humane Laws Demanded. The alliance also adopted resolutions demanding a national eight-hour day, old age pensions and workmen's compensation compensa-tion laws.
