Show DEldTS OF UTAH TO HOMM Gathering Will Be Held at Kenyon Hotel on Evening' of April 14. Tho Democrats o Utah in ccncral ami of Salt Lake in particular will mark next Monda.y with a red star. On that day thoy will celebrate the anniversary anni-versary of the birth of Thomas Jefferson, Jeffer-son, the rovorctl founder of the party. Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743. Owing to the fact that tho anniversary falls on a Sunday it will be observed Monday. There- will bo a grand rocoption( at the Jveuyon hotel under the auspices of the Democratic Women 's club, The oxorcises will botjin at 7:30 o'clock. Chairman T. F. Thomas has sent invitations invi-tations to all the members of tho county organizations, and has requested thorn to invito as manj' Democrats as possible. Judgo O. W. Powers and Frank B. Stephens will deliver briof addrosscs on .lefferson. Other speakers will be Judc S. B. Thurman, chairman of the state Democratic committee; Mrs. II. J. Jlayward, president of the Democratic Women's club; Senator Simon Bam-boreor. Bam-boreor. County Chairman T. F. Thomas and Mrs. Joseph M. Cohen. W. B. Wallace, national committeeman for Utah, will talk on tho inauguration of President Wilson. An elaborate musical programme bas been arranged. Those who will participate par-ticipate in the programme aro: Mts. 0. D. Bay, Mrs. C41en Newton, Miss Carmata 'Pitt, Mrs. George Buckle, Mrs. Laura Poulton Browcrton and Edward Braby. There will be no charge of any kind. |
