Trude of Clii-cago, Clii-cago, who arrived in Salt Lake City yes-torday. yes-torday. Such a trip does not imply that Air. Trude is preparing for a trip to cither tho north or the south polo or oven to the interior of Alaska. "I am .just going to the ranch," he said when seen in tho Hotel Utah yesterday, "but dog sleds aro the only mode of conveyance convey-ance we have there. T took the trip once on snowshoes and went through all right, but most of tho distance was made on my frontal bono, which I bc-liovo bc-liovo is not regular. I shall go to Spencer, Spen-cer, Idaho, on tho Oregon Short Line, and then shall go by wagon to Kilgorc. From Kilgoro to tho ranch, dog sleds are the only way to travel now, and tho only question is whether there will bo crust enough on tho buow to travel that way or not." Mr. Trude, who is ono of tho best-known best-known lawyers of the country, having been connoctod prominently with many of the moro important criminal cases of Chicago and Sewherc for the last fort" years, arrived in Salt Lake City 3'esterday from Los Angeles, and will "bo hero several days before leaving for the ranch, which is near lioa, Idaho, about eight miles north of Island Park. His wife and her maid, who accompanied accompa-nied him hero from Los Angeles, will proceed to Chicago. Tho ranch in Tdaho was secured by Mr. Trude in 1SS9, and he has spent much of his time there since then. He and members of his family havo established estab-lished schools there and done much to build tip the reputation of the neighborhood neigh-borhood as a summer camping ground or resort. During tho summer months they emplo' a trained nurse at the ranch in order to bo prepared for accidents acci-dents occurring to hunters and campers camp-ers in the neighborhood. Tho place was named the Algenia ranch in honor of Mrs. Trude, that being be-ing her first name, and under that name has bocomo .famous throughout tho west in general and Idaho in particular. par-ticular. Although Mr. Trude registered at the hotel from Chicago yesterday, h insisted that he spends most of his time in Idaho and saj-fl that is his homo.
