HANDSOME MEN ARE IN DEMAND NEW YORK, N. V., April 10. Men, tall and handsome, are height sought by tho fiuffragists in New York for, on May 2, a great bcautv pageant is to be held at the Metropolitan opera house. Three hundred of the most beautiful women in America will take part in it. Those will bo easy to find; forty-nine out of t his number will represent the forty-nine states of the union. Nine of the .supremely beautiful ones, and those best portraying the American type, will represent tho nine franchisee" states. Now, the probjom which tho suffragists hao to solvo is to find forty-nine men. tall enough, handsome enough and muscled enough to don classic, draperies and appear with the forty-nine beaut i-fn i-fn women. An ardent search for these men is being made.
