Show MARKETING BONDS. Tho city of Now York recently sold 165.000.000 of fifty-year 44 'per cent bonds at 100,7-17, nlichtly above par. The ritv of Philnlelphia last week sold $4,225,000 thirty-year bonds, drawing 1 per cent interest at 100.20, and oven bettor on a portion of tho issue. These fales prove conclusively tho abundance of money in tho country, and it availability on sure investments, invest-ments, even if the interest return is not high. But the money keeps out of Wall Street, and docs not brace up the stock market. The reason is plain; investors four Jnwsuitg nnd adverse legislation upon the different corporations and tbeir stock issues. Until local rights, reservations, and limitations aro moro clearly established than they are now, it cannot be expected that the available avail-able mouey of tho country will go to tho relief of tho stock market. |
