July 3 Six prostrations, two of which are expected to result fatally, fa-tally, were reported today as the mercury mer-cury soared to new heights and promised prom-ised the old-fashioned sort of sizzling weather for July 1 celebrants. As the day wore on. and the heat Increased In-creased to S7 degrees In the shade sev-oral sev-oral dogs developed rabies and nine persons per-sons were serious bitten. In some of the enses serious results are expected because the victims refused to submit to a Pasteur treatment. A light breeze from the lake prevented moro serious prostrations, but the weather weath-er man promised more heat and less breeze for tomorrow. A slight chance of showers Is all that Is expected to prevent pre-vent a how record for torrid weather for July I.
