J. A. MUNROE HERE. Vice President of Union Pacific and Short Line Comes on Business. J. A. Munroe. vice president In charge of traffic of the Union Pacific and the Oregon Short Lino, arrived In Salt Lake City late yesterday afternoon. He camo in from the northwest and will be hero several days before continuing to his headquarters In Omaha. "I am on a buslncsa trip and shall be here several days," said Mr. Munroe last evening. "T was with other officials of the Harriman lines In Ran Francisco about two wcoks ago when they had a conference there and went from there to Portland. 1 merely stopped here for a few days with tho officials of the Oregon Short Line. "I found rain most of tho lime that I was in Portland, and it rained on us all the way through Oregon as wo came over the Oregon-Washington Railroad & Navigation company lino yesterday." Mr. Munroe went direct to the Hotel Utah when he arrived In Salt Lake City yesterday and said that ho expected t do nothing but cluan up and rest last night. He will confer with V. H. Bancroft, Ban-croft, vice president and general manager man-ager of the Oregon Short Line, and other officials of this road today.
