Sullivan in a signed card, as follows: fol-lows: "There arc no mnttitlal differences existing ex-isting between the railway company and the machinists except the question of tho reinstatement of tho foremen who wctrt out with the men. Tho machinists' organization or-ganization insists upon their reinstatement reinstate-ment to the positions they formerly held, which request was refused. "The riglit of the railway company to select, its own officers, of whatever rank, including foremen, Is one which cannot bo relinquished to a lahor organization, while the company Is held to responsibility responsi-bility for tho safety and- efficiency of Its service. "Tho attempt of the other labor organizations organ-izations to coerce the railway company Into compliance with the machinists' demands de-mands by throats of a sympathetic strlko. In violation of their contract agreement entered Into since the machinists' strike was declared, cannot, be pormltted to Influence In-fluence the company In Its determination to control Its business through Its own organization."
