Show TO CALL FOR BIDS ON IB SCHOOL BONDS This Is Recommendation of the Finance Committee of Board of Education. The finance committee of the city board of education, nt its meeting Thursday Thurs-day night, decided to recommend to the board lhal bids he advertised for the sale of the special hond issue of $700,000, the bids to he opened at noon May 12, and the bonds to he d;ited July 1. Two propositions prop-ositions will he asked for in tho bids, one for the delivery of the entire bond it-sue July t and the other for the delivery of $p.00,000 worth oC the bonds .luly 1, $200.-000 $200.-000 January 1( 1911, -and $200,000 -Tulv 1, lftll. It is expected that there will ho some lively bidding on the bonds, as Clerk Judd has already received a number of inquiries in-quiries from eastern bond buyers concerning con-cerning the matter, which shows that they arc taking: considerable Interest in the school bonds and will no doubt be on hand with bids when the proper time comes. Tho funds derived from the sale of tho bonds will be used for purchasing a sllc and constructing a new high school Iu tho eastern part of the city and for building an addition to the present high school and building two new grade school buildings, one In tho Waterloo district and tho other at Ninth avenue and 13 street. The board will receive proposals for the new high school silo Saturday noon, and at that time the committee will mako some recommendation as to the location of the new school. |
