Yet the present head of the church 1 says that the doctrino was revealed to Joseph in the early thirties; that while he did not then make it known to but a few of his close friends in the church, j he later taught it to man3'; that he - took several phiraU wives; and that J none was so fearless, in setting the '" poty'gamous example as' was Joseph. . John Ta3'lor denied de-nied poty'gani3', while at tho moment ho had several wives. Joseph and'lly-rum and'lly-rum Smith denied it officially over their own signatures, while Joseph J"1. Smith declares that lhc.y wero possessed of numerous conjugal partners. Tho womon of the relief soeiet3 at Nauvoo denied it, and somo of them later swore in court that at the vciy moment of their signatures to the denial they were poty'gamous wives. That polyganry is rampant in the Mormon church today is undoubledty true, nnd the denials made b3 the News and speakers and officials in tho church count for absolutely nothing, because thc3' arc as maliciously false as were tho old denials, which aro now confessed by the church itself to have been lies of the most deliberate order.
