ROBBERS KILL II WHO HAS0HLV Oil Daring Holdup in New York Hotel; Victim Was From Oakland, Cal. NEW YORK, Feb. 17. Two desperadoes with drawn revolvers raided tho lobby of the Wnverly hotel on the ISowery today, to-day, shot down and killed Fred Devlin, a guest, who, when they demanded money for drinks, was only able to produce a dime, and then held up and robbed tho clerk of the night's receipts. Loss than ?10 all told was tho result of the holdup. hold-up. The men ran out of the hotel after tho shooting and disappeared. Dovlin lived n short time after ho wo.s shot, but was unable to mnko a statement. Devlin, tho victim of the desperadoes, was a Callfornian. 2.r years old.
