Final details of tho programme to bo carried out -by the local posts of the G. A. R. and auxiliary organisations, tho Sons and Daughters of Veterans and tho Spanish-American War veterans, in observance of Memorial Sunday, May 2S, and Decoration day, May 30. were completed com-pleted at a meeting of the Joint committee commit-tee on arrangements, held last evening in tho offices of Chairman O. F. Davis In the iN'ewhouso building. According to tho completed programme all members of tho participating organizations organ-izations will assemble at the corner of Fourth South and Seventh East streets Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Forming Form-ing Into columns of four, those who gather gath-er will march in a body to the Phillips Congregational church, one block south, where tho memorial services will consist principally of an address in keeping with tho occasion by Rev. P. A. Slmpkln, pastor pas-tor of tho church. Services will begin at 11 o'clock in tho forenoon. Indications point to a general observance observ-ance of Decoration day on Tuesday In accordance with thcj proclamation Issued by Governor William Spry. Special exercises ex-ercises will be held at Mount Olivet, the City cemetery and Fori Douglas. The G. A. R. veterans, auxiliary organizations. organiza-tions. Sons and Daughters of VotiTan and the Spanish-American War veterans will bo divided Into thrco groups, each group being assigned to one of the cemeteries. cem-eteries. General Assemblage. . Tho general assemblage wUl take place at Odd Fellows' hall on Market street Tuosday morning al J o'clock. From hero the three groups will leave at 9:30 o'clock for their respective mures. The assignments a made last evening follow: fol-low: For Ml. Olivet MeKoan. Maxwell and O. O. Howard posts of the G. A. R. and the McKoan Relief corps of the Ladles' auxiliary organization. For tlic City cemetery Spanish-American war veterans and the Maxwell Relief Re-lief corps. For Fort Douglas cemetery Sons and Daughters of Veterans and Reynolds and Rice circles of the Ladles of the G. A. R. At Mt. Olivet tho distribution of flowers flow-ers will take place between tho hours of 10 and 11 o'clock In the forenoon. 'Lbo ritualistic services of posts and corps will follow, preceding a reading of Lincoln's Lin-coln's Gettysburg address. The memorial oration will bo delivered by the Rev. Elmer I. Goshen, pastor of the First Congregational Con-gregational church. National anlhems and quartette music will be interspersed and following the lenedlction a salute will be tired, the ceremonies to end with the sounding of laps. The exercises at tho City cemetery are to commence al 10:30 o'clock with prayer pray-er by the camp chaplain and remarks by the camp commander. William D. Rlter will be the principal speaker. The All Mallows college band will furnish music and patriotic anthems aro to be sung. Those who have passed away will bo saluted sa-luted by a tiring squad preceding the sounding of taps. Fort Douglas Programme. At Fort Douglas the programme will start at 11 o'clock. Judge Georgo G. Armstrong of the Third district court will deliver the oration, and the balance ,of tho exercises will be identical with those at the other cemeteries. Following these exercises delegations will go to Sandy and Murray, where appropriate ap-propriate ceremonies will be held In conjunction con-junction with the residents of both places. After the Fori Douglus exercises exer-cises a delegation of the Daughtors of Veterans will go to the Jordan river, where they will strew flowers along the waterway In memory of those who In years past have lost their lives for their country while fighting on stormy seas.
