Show DOUBLE COMPENSATION FOR DR. J. H. HOLLANDER WASHINGTON. May 24. Dr. Jacob H. Hollander of Baltimore, who negotiated the settlement of tho debt of the Dominican Domini-can republic, today frankly admitted that he had received $40,000 from the United States government and $100,000 from San Domingo for his sorvlcos. He appeared In his own behalf before the house committee com-mittee on expenditures In the treasury department. Dr. Hollander said that when he arranged with this government for compensation for his services it was agreed through Mr. Bacon, then assistant assist-ant secretary of state, that hi might receive re-ceive from San Domingo such compensation compen-sation as that government desired to award him |
