Show CLOSING EXERCISES IN JH1 DISTRICT Hundred and Nineteen Graduates Gradu-ates Receive Diplomas; Large Attendance. Commencement exercises of the .Ionian district schools woro held yesterday morning morn-ing at the Mldvale ward chapel. In this district Ihero were 110 graduates from tho several schools of various grades, which Includes tho Jordan high, Ulnghain Central. Butler, Crescent, Draper. Granite, Gran-ite, Mldvale, Rlvorton. Sandy, South Jordan, Jor-dan, Union and JCaat Jordan. All graduates grad-uates have completed the work of the eighth grade. The exercises began promptly at 11 o'clock before a large gathering. The Invocation In-vocation was pronounced by Mayor W. D. Kuhre of Sandy. This was followed by a selection from the Jordan high school orchestra. Miss Eva Allen of Draper gave a papor on class history, followed fol-lowed by Miss Laura Booth of West Jordan, Jor-dan, who sang "Roses Mean Me to Von" In a pleasing manner. The Bingham Central class ropdered a class chorus. Lionel Hartclgsen of Sandy delivered the valedictory. Jn his address to tho graduates Mathonlhah Thomas of this city made a strong plea for the graduates grad-uates to continue their studies. Diplomas wore presented by Superintendent Superin-tendent John Huusen. "Lovely Night, O Tender Night," was rendered by the Eighth grade graduates. This was followed fol-lowed by "America" by the Jordan high school orchestra and audience. |
