Every coupon from The Tribune Trib-une or the Telegram filed for President Neiss counts 1000 votes for him and 1000 votes for the federation. A communication was read from the Building Trades council stating that the following committee had been elected elect-ed to work in conjunction with tho federation fed-eration committee to mako arrangements for tho Labor day celebration and parade: pa-rade: Messrs. Dunsby, Munsey and Osborne. Os-borne. Some Objection. Some objection was raised to tho council coun-cil taking the initiative in tills matter, as Labor day programmes are supposed to be the prerogative of the federation. A representative of the trades council said that It took a largo part in the day's proceedings, and believed it is entitled to a share of the profits. This difficulty, however, was overcome, after some debate, de-bate, and the following committee was named by the federation to act with the trades council committee: A. E. Harvey, chairman; Abe Martin. B. M. Greenwood, John Osborne and William Pickering. The Building Trades council also stated in its communication that it bad named tho following as a campaign committee' lo work with the federation committee: Messrs. Doxcy, Dunsby and Greenwood. Harvey made a report on the meeting held at the Commercial Com-mercial club a few nights ago, urging lower coal rates, and tho labor men pledged their support to t lie movement. W. F. Ramsey urged the members of tho organization to patronize the Commonweal Common-weal Supply company, which has been established on West Temple street, where groceries can bo bought at a less price than at any other store, he said. Lcibcrthai said that when the rolali clerks were making their fight for the early closing Saturdays Tho Tribune and Telegram wcro the papers thai gave the movement the greatest support, and labor men should now support thoso papers pa-pers and the people should help the clerks by shopping early. |
