Show DUKE HAS TROUBLE GETTING FOURTH WIFE WASHINGTON-. June 10. Brodle IX Duke, tho tobacco magnate, came (julctly to Washington today to negotiate his fourth marriage contract and, after carefully care-fully laid plans, ran nfoul of a Presbyterian Presby-terian clergyman's aversion to divorce. Mr. Uuke had planned to be married to AIlss Wylanta Roschelle of Durham, N. C, where arc situated his tobacco In-lcrcr In-lcrcr and his magnificent estate. The Rev. Donald C. MacLeod, pastor of the First Prcshytcrluji church, had agreed to perform tho ceremony. The law of the District of Columbia requires that the name of the minister or marrying Justice appear on the license application and on the license before It Is Issued, and Mr. Duke, accompanied by a friend, called on U'-v. Mr. McLcod before be-fore he applied for his license. Having arranged to bo married In the pastor's study at 4 o'clock, Mr. Duko procured his license.
