Davis, at 101S East Second South street, Saturday morning at 2 o'clock and after collecting loot to the amount of. 575, made good thoir escape Entrance was gained through a dining room window, which the occupants of the house, had failed to fasten. The police have no cluo to tho burglars. When asked regarding the burglary, Mr. Davis suld that he thought he had heard some noise in the house immediately immedi-ately after he had retired, but that he could not distinguish between the noise being made, outside, on account of the New Year's celebration, and the noise he heard In the house. He attributed the noise made by the burglars to that made by the persons celebrating. Tho burglars evidently took their time In collecting tho loot, for they, opened all of the drawers in the china elo.ict and, after collecting a dos:cn silver spoons, eight souvenir spoons and half a dozen knives, they went to the wardrobe on tho ground floor and selected a fine overcoat over-coat and also a silk hat from among tho garments. |
