The mammoth Jubilee planned by the Real Estate association of this city in celebration of the opening of tho Western West-ern Pacific railroad to traffic may be declared de-clared off. It will bu remembered that the Real Estate association appointed a special committee to take charge of the preliminary work, and this conunlttceo hus been busily engaged In the discharge of this pleasant duty for somo time past. Among other things, a lctlfr was addressed ad-dressed to President E. T. Jeffrey, president presi-dent of ihe JJenvor & Rio Grando and Western Pacific, asking for the co-opcra-tlon of those companies with the Real Estate association in making the affair a big success. Tuesday It wns learned, from a supposedly sup-posedly authoritative source, that President Presi-dent .Tottery had replied to the letter of the committee and in no uncertain manner man-ner bad doclincd to havo anything whatever what-ever to do with tho proposed celebration. The reasons alleged to havo been given by President Jeffcry for declining to cooperate co-operate with the conunltleo were not made public. It Is to he hoped, however, that tho differences may yet be adjusted and the celebration held as originally planned.
