In an allocation which followed a dispute involving some money matters In a saloon on lower Twenty-ilfth street tonight between James Pache, a gambler employed by the Turf exchange, better known as "The Turk." and Ed Jones, anothor gambler, the latter was badly cut about the left hand and arm by. Pache, and Is now in a. critical condition and is not expected to llvo. Drawing a knife. Pache slashed Jones, severing the artery In his left arm. from which wound ho lost a -largo amount of blood, almost bleeding to death before medical attention could be secured. Jones attempted to shoot Fache, but was too weak to do so. Pache, however, was placed minor arrest and is being held without ball. Jones was removed to his room in .the Loyal rooming Iioubc. where his Injuries were attended by Dr. H. B. Forbes, after ho had boon bleeding profusely pro-fusely for about half an hour. |
