Windsor Richards, a young follow who got aboard too much booze on Saturday evening and when an officer attempted to arrest showed light, was arraigned before Judge Brangham today and fined 32n. As a result of the fine there is a lot of bitter comment being Indulged In by people on the street as the new prohibition law seems to bo Intended only for those who do not enjoy the favor of the powers that be. One man has been nrrestcd at least twelve times Ibis year for drunkenness and yet he is still at liberty and has neither paid a fine nor made good for his offending of-fending In any way. and when the Judge tired of the Importunities of his friends decided to punish him the mayor himself intervened In his behalf. Yet this young fellow today was given a stiff sentence and none of the influential ones are busying busy-ing themsolves lo see that ho gots off toi less than the penalty Imposed. |
