Leon Guypon, well known as an Illustrator, shot himself him-self here today and was found dead on the floor of his studio. H. C. Merrill, a close friend, explaining the tragedy tonight, to-night, said that Guypon hud been engaged en-gaged to Miss Agnes Foster, daughter of a Boston banker, but had broken tho engagement because of 111 health. Before killing himself the young artist sent to his former llancoe in Boston a cheek for $7212, "all the pennies I had saved." as he expressed It In a letter to his friend Merrill. In his letter to Merrill ho wrote: "I don't want to poison her bright, happy life, yet 1 cannot llvo without her. So there is but one honorable path open to mo and I shall calmly stop Into it because my conscience is clear."
