Show MJEF AGAIN PLEADS FOR REUASni BAIL Physicians Declare Confinement Is Undermining Health of Former For-mer Political Boss. t SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 30. Abraham Abra-ham Bucf, tho former "political boss" of this cit3', through his attorney today to-day petitioned the superior court for release on bail, on the ground that his continued confinement pending an appeal ap-peal which he has made to the appellate appel-late court, .has greatly impnirod his health. The petition is based on the statement state-ment of twenty physicians, who, after examining Kucf today, announced that his incarceration in the branch county jail, whero he had been confined for several months, was undermining liis health. They asserted t lint tho heart, lungs and eyesight of the prisoner had been greatly hffceted by his confinement. The petition further stated that Mrs. Altinan, sister of Rucf, was dangerously ill and that his presence at her bedside bed-side was imperative. Judge Cnbnniss set tomorrow morning for a formal henring of the matter. Ruct' is under sentence of fourteen years in the penitentiary. Ho was convicted con-victed of .bribery in connection with the granting of an overhead trolley franchise to tho United Railroads. |
