Show STRIKE SITUATION MARKET'S FEATURE Trade Dull and Weak Early in Day; Later, Forced Into , Activity. cfHICAGO, Nov. 30. The market recovered all of the loss sustained sus-tained early In the dny and closed strong, with prices llc above yesterday. Corn closed firm, oats steady and provisions weak. The wheat market was a dull and dragging affair until the announcement wns made that the switchmen on many of the Western railroads would go on strike tonight unless their demands wore granted. Demand bocamc decidedly active in the final hour and prices quickly a'dvanecd more than 1 cent. From $1.05 touched about midday, mid-day, December rose to Sl.Ofig. May advanced ad-vanced from $1.05A to $1,001. The close vas almost at tho top, llnals on pc-cember pc-cember being at $1.00i and on Jaay $1.06J1.081. Liquidation of December corn caused weakness In that market the greater part of the day, but a firmer tone developed de-veloped late In the session, owing- to the bulge In wheat Increasing receipts and a decline of 1 to 2 cents in the price of cash grain were the basis of' much of the selling pressure.
