SMITH AND LUND FIGHT IN THE ALAMO SALOON John G. Smith and Forest Lund engaged en-gaged In a fight in the Alamo saloon on Commorclal street, about 10 o'clock Thursday night, the former receiving a badly-cut hand, which he pushed through a glass In a swinging door, while Lund Is nursing a black eye. Smith and Lund have been working out nt Wandamero together and came" ic town for a social evening. What started I the trouble no one seems to know, but ' the eyo-wltnesscs say the tlrst thing , thoy knew of trouble was when Smith struck Lund In the eye, putting him down I and out. The blow was such a hard one that It' didn't spend Its force against Lund's eye. but followed Its course through a glass In a swinging door. Smith hnd rive deep gashes on his right and add the end of his thumb was half cut )ff. Smith was locked up and Lund will appear ap-pear against htm In police court Friday afternoon on the charge of batterv. Jailer Ripley attended to Smith's injuries.
