An apportionment of 310.000 has been made ' by the quartermaster general for Ihe erection of a modern bakery at Fort Douglas. The building will be of concrete con-crete and brick, with a slate roof A sieam baking plant, electric dough mixers, mix-ers, cutters, etc.. will bo Instnlled ana the system adopted is such that tho entire process is gone through without handling the bread by hand. Graduates of the bakery school at Fort r.lley will be sent out to tako charge of the new plant on its completion. Tho contract will be let In a few days and the work will be under the supervision of Captain F. SI. Savage. The new building will be located south of the guard house. The baseball team Is practicing dally, and is gradually rounding Into shape. Lieutenant lilliot expects to play games Saturday and Sunday with the new Salt Lake team. f Colonel Scott's condition continues to improve rapidly.
