Show PROMOTER TUCKER ABLE TO DODGE INDICTMENT TOPEKA, Kan., April 21. '"II". II. Tucker, dr., formerly secretary of the Undo Sam Oil company and its promoter, pro-moter, who has been indicted for using us-ing the mails to defraud in connection with tho promotion of tho oil company, secured tho quashing of a second indictment in-dictment today. The demurrer asked tliat Ihe indictment be quashed because be-cause it was too vague and indefinite .Tudgo Amidon of . North Dakota, who was presiding in the federal conrl, sustained sus-tained tho demurrer. United States District Attorney II. .T. Bono says he will ask Ihe federal grand jury to reindict re-indict Tucker for a third time. The same bond of $10,000 which Tucker gavo last, fall will remain in force and effect. Tho Undo Sam. Oil company was last year placed in the hands of a re'- i ceivcr after over a million dollars' I worth of stock had been sold in fourteen four-teen Stales. ' |
