Show BALLOON TS TESTED. RsSa Honeywell Asci to Altitude of 10,- 000 Feet, and Drifts East. ST. LOUIS, July 4. The balloon St. Louis, recently purchased by Russell E. Gardner, for entry in tho Aero club balloon bal-loon tournament in October, was used In a test trip this morning by II. E. Honeywell, a professional aeronaut, accompanied ac-companied by M. F. Cartwrlght. secretary secre-tary to Mr. Gardner. Mr. Gardner has not yet attempted a balloon ascension. This flight was the first attempted by Mr. Cartwright Tho balloon was Inflated In-flated at the Laclede Gas plant, and at 10 o'clock Aeronaut Honeywell and Mr. Cartwrlght gave the slgnnl to those holding hold-ing the ropes. The big gas bag shot straight up and drifted slowly east. It was the Intention of the aeronauts to remain up all day and endeavor to reach an altitude of 10,000 feet. Results at Latonia. CINCINNATI.
