Show INJURIES ARE LISTED James R. Birchfield Tells What He Got While Riding on Hand-Car. James R. Birchfield has filed suit in the Third District court against the San Pedro, Los Angeles & bait Lake Railway company to collect the sum of $20,000 for personal injuries received while in the employ or the company. The plaintiff alleges that ho was employed em-ployed as a carpenter and as such was obliged lo go back and forth to his work at Loath, Nev., on a handcar. On tho morning of April 19, 190(3, the complaint states, ho was riding on a handcar which was out of order and which consequently did not run at a very good speed, and that the car on which he was riding was run into bv another car which was following it, and that the plaintiff was thrown to the ground, rccoiving tho following injuries: in-juries: Dislocation of tho right shoulder, shoul-der, right nrm practically paralyzed, several bones bronen in the left "foot, the left leg fractured below tho knee. Tho plaintiff alleges that as a result of these injuries he' has been compelled to undergo four surgical operations and that ho will be permanently disabled. |
