Show IQLASMANN IV YET BEJEFEATED Feeling in Ogden Is That Major Conroy Shonld Head Protest. THIS WODLD BE IN" LINE WITH HIS SALTAIR SPEECH Should He Do So, Many Good Citizens Will Assist Him. SpeeUI to The Tribune. CKtDENj Aug. 24. The statement of .Dr. E. bL Conroy, Mayor of Ogdcn, who spoko at the Democratic Slate committee meeting at Saltair, Thursday afternoon, that not 5 per cent of the business men and influential people-' of Ogden -would indorso Joe IlowelPs appointment ap-pointment of Glasmann as postmaster of Ogden, has been taken seriously by the public of Ogden. If Mayor Con roy'a statements are in accordance with the facte, it would seem to be easy to defeat Glasmann's confirmation. It is the common expression in Ocden tonight that if Dr. Conroy believes what he said he should begin and head a protest against the appointment of GlaEtnann, and there is no question but that, it; will be strong enough to convince con-vince the authorities at Washington that Glasmnnn is not the proper selection selec-tion for the office. If such a protest should be inaugurated and headed by Dr. Conroy it would bo subscribed to by probably J000 other prominent citizens of Ogden. |
