The official report of the Hurst Automatic Auto-matic Switch company, ivhich was to havo been made Friday afternoon to the Manufacturers and Merchants' association as-sociation and the Commercial club, was not made, owing to tho fact that the placing of the tjv.'itchcs in the Oregon Short Line yards had not been completed. com-pleted. It is expected that the switches will be complete in the Oregon Short Line yards within a week. Hagans, local manager of the J. F. Hurst company, through whose reports tho switch pooplo first considered Salt Lake as a favorable location lo-cation for a factory, is looking after the company's interests in the way of a factory site, as well as in securing data of valuo to the company. Ho has taken 'options on desirable ground and has submitted a report on" the Copper company's plant in the northwest part of the city. While Mr. Hagans will not mako his report public, desiring that the directors direc-tors of the company take action upon it before it is given out, it may be said that the site will be very likely to meet with the approval of the directors and that they will probably tako the matter mat-ter up w'ilh the owners of the property, looking toward tho purchase of tho site. The date for the public test of tho switch has not been announcod, but will probably be set for one day the latter part o'f next week. |
