Case of Corning, Cal., was given judgment by default against his father, Alfred P. Case of Salt Lako, in the sum of .$(534.20 by Judge Lewis in the District court Monday morning. The reverend son sued to recover ihat amount for his mother's funeral expenses, ex-penses, and for the care and keop of his brother, money -which he says he ad'anced. but which his father should have paid. In a deposition in the case, the California Cali-fornia preacher deel arcs that his father I deserted his mother on March 1. 1S99, and that tho mother died at Oakland, Cal., May 30, 190S. His father, he says, married another woman subsequent subse-quent to his desertion of his first wife, with the result that; tho son was compelled com-pelled to pay his mother's burial ex- Senses and to provide, school and clothe is brother "William.
