Climo, a well-known Salt Lako mining man, who lives with his -wifo and children at. Fourth avenue aud M etroets, was made defendant in a suit, for $50,000 damages for breach of promise, lllod in the .District court Monday Mon-day by Amanda Iloalst, a young woman -whoso homo is at Mackay, Ida. In her complaint, which was Illod by Attorney A. A. Duncan, Miss Hoalst alleges 'that Climo promised to marry her on April 15, 100(5. The marriago was to take placo not later than March 1, 1907. When tho latter dato arrived Climo, sho alleges, did not keep his promise. She started to investigate, and learned that he had a wife and family. This discovery she made on April 15, 1807. Under promiso of marriage, she. alleges, al-leges, Cltraa seduced her. Sho charges that as a result sho is about to becomo a mother. She supposed, sho says, that when Climo promised to marry her, ho wns an unmnrried man, and able to carry out his promise. It was on this supposition, she declares, that sho consented to the alleged criminal intimacy inti-macy between herself and tho defendant. defend-ant. Climo is said to be woll-to-do. Ho is operating what is known as the Macbeth Mac-beth lease at Mackay, Ida., whore the girl lives, and it -was while there on business connected with his mining property, it is claimed, that he made the acquaintance of tho girl. Miss Hoalst lives with her parents, who, it is said, aro back of the suit which sho has filed. Sho is said to be a remarkably handsome girl of about 20 or 21 years of age. |
