The terrific rain last night washed out four lengths of the pipe in I he field at Weston, LMo., twenty miles south of St. Joseph. Tho break had not been repaired at a late hour today. Gas is used for fuel at. the electric, light plant of the city, and the streets were in darkucss after midnight. Gas in also used in the typesetting machines by local newspapers', and they will issue is-sue today with difficulty. The rain last night wa.s the heaviest heavi-est in years. A Chicago Great Western West-ern passenger train which was duo to arrive hero from Chicago at 2 o'clock this morning, is held ten miles north of St. Joseph by washout.
