Show SIR WRECK 01 SWiPIIFI Western Express Dilched Near Deetli, iind Eight Cars Overturned. 1 DETAILS OF ACCIDENT NOT YET RECEIVED Operators Claim Only Four or Five Passengers Are Slightly Slight-ly Injured. Special "to The Tribune. OGDEN, Jan. 23. A disastrous wreck occurred to passenger train No. 5. known as the Western Express, at Dceth, 10-1 miles west of Ogdon. Tho accident is believed to have occurred oc-curred nt 10:-Jn Inst night. The train left Ogricn yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon, after-noon, three hours and twouty minutes late, and is presumed to have been making fast, time on the Dceth grade, when it was derailed bv somo cause unknown at tho present time. The train consisted of two bnggago cars, two day conches, one diner, one tourist tour-ist car. and two standard sleepers. The entire eight, cars were thrown from the track, and it is said some of thorn wero hurled a distance of two hundred hun-dred foot- The engine never left tho rails, and flir pnnflnain iu t-o.... 1..1 l,n.A Un- t, wreck was caused by somo defect in tho forward baggage car. s No detailed or completo report has boon received at railroad headquarters in Ogdcn up to 1 o'clock this (Wednesday) (Wednes-day) morning. Tho operators say that no ono was killed, but that four or five passengers were slightly injured. Prom tho body of tho report received, however, it is indicated that the wreck is complete, all of the cars being turned over oxcept the rear Pullman, and from tho very condition of tho wreck and the factt that they were running fust it is anticipated that n complete report of the injured, which will not. be made for several hours, will show n moro extensive list, than four or five. |
