SUITS FOR DAMAGES. Three Instituted Against Smelters Claiming Damage From Smoke. W. H. Bird filed suit yesterday In the District court against the Bingham Copper Cop-per and Gold Mining company for damages, dam-ages, alleging two causes of action, one for $1349, and another for $1000. The usual claims are made as to damage to crops from smelter smoke. Valentine Bateman likd suit In the District Dis-trict court yesterday against the Utah Consolidated Mining company, asking damages on account of smelter smoke to the amount of $2000. The same plaintiff filed suit also against the Hingham Copper Cop-per and Gold Mining companj and Duncan Dun-can MacVlchle for the same nniounl. Jesse Argent died suit against the Hingham Hing-ham Copper and Gold Mining company and Duncan MacVlchle, alleging damages from smelter smoke to the amount of 1902.
