J The injured include Mrs. James Kcr- j nochan of Hempstead, L. I., Harry Oel- I rfchs, Herbert Pell. Jr., of New York , and Miss Evelyn Walsh, sister of the I jl man who was killed. The automobile, which was driven by young Walsh. struck the railing of a bridge spanning !- a creek neur Eastern Point, and j plunged Into the water. t iH Creek Was Not Deep. 'M The accident was witnessed by other jl automobllists, who succeeded in rescu- ll ing the five occupants of the Walsh machine, not, however, without great i difficulty, due to the fact that nil the members of the party were lying be- -neath the heavy car. Walsh, who was about 10 years old, h JH was not Instantly killed, but died soon t after he was tafcen from the water. It t was learned later that as the automo-bile automo-bile crashed over the bridge his head . came in contact with an iron beam. , Injured Will Recover. , The occupants of the car were on their way to attend a luncheon given at the Clambake club, near Eastern H Point, by Mrs. Clement C. Moore. The H accident happened when the car. a 40-horse 40-horse power vehicle, was speedily rap-Idly rap-Idly down a hill. The injured were HHJ treated temporarily at near-by cottages.
