No news has yet been received from the British steamship Athos, now long overdue at this port from Southern waters, and much uneasiness is being felt for the safety of the vessel. Besides Captain Dollson and his crew of twenty-seven men, there were also on board the ship when she put out from Port Antonio, Jamaica, for New "York, James A. Donald, Jr., the fourteen-year-old son of the owner, and one of his schoolmates from Brooklyn. Brook-lyn. If no word is received within tho next few hours, it Is expected the Navy department will send out a vessel to search for the Athos. |
